With juniors and seniors approaching the end of their college career, it’s time to start looking
for a path to their futures. Luckily, the Quad Cities Career Expo and Graduate School Fair, held in East Moline, was able to help.
The fair gave students a chance to see what their future could hold in store, whether that be through internships, part-time or full-time jobs, careers, and graduate programs. Students could also speak with employers and admissions counselors face-to-face and talk about their career outlook.
Abe Alwan, a senior here at St. Ambrose University, was eager to attend the Expo. “Some of my favorite parts about the expo are actually conversing with different companies with my like-minded interests, while also conversing with other grad schools I might want to attend and expand my education with what I want to go into,” said Alwan.
Alwan had the opportunity to speak with accounting firms such as KEB, RSM, Han Camp, Century. He also met with some admissions counselors from graduate school programs at the University of Iowa and Western Illinois University. Alwan highly recommends the expo for students lookingto give their career or graduate school outlook a head start.
According to Keisha Schroeder, SAU’s Director of Academic and Career Planning, the expo itself managed to draw more than 250 students from across the Quad Cities area.
