On March 8th, the fifth annual gala for St. Ambrose Dance Marathon was hosted in the Rogalski Center Ballroom. Many students from the SAU community, including faculty, family, and alumni came to support Dance Marathon’s biggest fundraising event of the year, all while enjoying a nice dinner.

Fundraising Director, Addie Hendrick explained that this event stands out from the rest of their events in that it’s one “that only I put on myself as a fundraising director,” whereas other events, they all work on as a team. She also explains that April 5th is the event where they put all their hard work to good use as they dance with their kids and families for 13.1 hours.

Dance Marathon President Will Nemcheck says “I love making impact anyway that I can, whether that be fundraising or making a mark on any of our families that we support every year they come back year after year and tell us what we’re doing here is very very important leaves a mark on their families that they just, they love.”

Vice President of Internal Affairs for Dance Marathon, Audrey Pender, says her favorite part was “just working with them in general to kind of figuring out you know their story and their interests too just allowing them to be kids cause that’s a big part of what we do and why we do.”

The event included a silent auction, a wine giveaway, and a gift card tree. At the end of the night, families had the opportunity to share their stories, as well as mention how Dance Marathon has helped them In the end. All the proceeds from the gala will be added to their total which will be revealed at their big event on April 5th.
