Every December, people look forward to checking their Spotify Wrapped, and 2025 is no different. Wrapped has become a major online trend because it gives users a quick, colorful summary of everything they listened to throughout the year. It shows their top songs, top artists, total minutes, and even new features that make the experience feel even more personal.

For many college students, Spotify Wrapped is almost a tradition. SAU junior Nora Barry says, “I’ve been using Spotify since I think like 2018.” She looks forward to seeing how her music tastes shift over time. “Yes, I don’t know. I just like seeing the music I’ve listened to over the last year and how it’s changed.

 “This year is different too because they gathered data to show us what our age is according to what music we listened to,” Nora explains. She said nothing about her results surprised her, except one unexpected artist showing up. “I was not surprised this year at all except for the fact that Taylor Swift was on it.”

Other SAU students had similar reactions. Junior Avery Ball says she’s been using Spotify since 2019. She says she loves seeing which songs end up at the top, even when she doesn’t expect them. “I’m always shocked about what songs are in my top lists.”

For some, the biggest surprise is discovering which artist dominated their year without them realizing it. Maya, a sophomore , said, “I was shocked, I swear I didn’t listen to Olivia Rodrigo that much, but apparently she was my number one by a mile.”

Spotify Wrapped continues to be one of the biggest digital events of the year because it gives people something fun to share and talk about. It captures memories, habits, and personal moments, all through the music people love. In 2025, it still proves that a simple playlist can bring people together and spark conversations across campus and across the internet.
