The SAU women’s soccer squad earned this year’s trip to the CCAC final on Tuesday night, Nov. 9, in spectacular fashion.

As early as the third minute, Riley Garcia put a header into the back of the net off of a corner kick from Morgan Wahlen to take the 1-0 lead. Just 17 minutes later, Wahlen would have one of her own and boot the ball in the net for her 16th goal of the season to pile on for the Bees.

Backed by a stellar performance from the defense, only allowing a total of four shots, St. Ambrose was able to maintain control of the second half of the game and dominate on the offensive side of the field.

The Bees tallied up nine shots to the Saints’ two to push ahead to the conference championship.

Ten Bees would rack up at least one shot each, with Tori Timerman, Abigail Goff, Kaitlyn Brunson, and Wahlen each marking two. Garcia and Taylor DeSplinter combined for nine.

The Bees will take on the Trinity Christian Trolls on Friday, Nov. 12, in Palos Heights, IL. During the regular season, the Bees topped the Trolls in a 2-1 double-overtime matchup.
