Saint Ambrose students are kicking off the new school year with more than just classes, as Buffalo Wild Wings Go joins the campus scene. This new addition is one of several that have opened on several campuses in recently. It has provided students another place to eat, especially during later hours when other campus dining options may be closed.
Open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. every day, students say it makes things easier because the dining hall is only open during specific meal periods and has more limited availability on weekends.
For students without cars, Buffalo Wild Wings Go also provides a convenient option without having to leave campus. Sophomore accounting major Razak Sudani says the location makes getting food easier. “It is convenient since I don’t have a car and I can just walk over.”
Others point out the new Buffalo Wild Wings Go is also helpful because they do not always want to drive somewhere else for food. Junior marketing major Keith Lamar says, “I have a car, but I still find it convenient when I don’t feel like driving anywhere.”
The hours are another benefit, especially for those with busy schedules. Donovan Peck, a sophomore psychology major, says the hours are helpful after late practices. “It’s actually the only thing I can eat after practice since The Grove closes early,” he says.
Junior psychology and social work double major Mary Shultz also says she appreciates the late hours. “The hours are very nice with my schedule, and I like how late it is open.” The later hours can be especially useful for students who activities, jobs, or classes that keep them busy throughout the day.
Students compare the new Buffalo Wild Wings Go location to Rogalski’s dining options from last year. While some students say they preferred Rogalski’s lower prices and larger variety, others say Buffalo Wild Wings Go is a good replacement.
Food variety has been another topic among the students. Some say the menu offers enough choices, while others believe Rogalski had more options. Sophomore exercise science major Josh Adebola says Buffalo Wild Wings has a “solid variety,” although he notes it can sometimes be expensive.
“I did like that Rogo had more options and was cheaper,” adds Mary Shultz. “It’s definitely comparable and very similar to a real B-dubs.”
Junior nursing major Cadence Plaster also says she misses some of Rogalski’s options but enjoys the new addition. “I think it’s a cool option to have now on campus… and it actually tastes like Buffalo Wild Wings.”
Wait times have also received mixed reactions. Josh says, “At times, yes, the 20-minute wait is long, but it’s usually worth the wait.” Larkin Calay, a sophomore elementary education major, also says her wait has generally been short. “Overall, the wait time is usually 10-15 minutes depending on what you ordered.”
Despite some differences in opinions about price, variety, and wait times, students have generally welcomed having another dining option on campus. For many students, Buffalo Wild Wings Go offers a convenient place to get food without needing to leave campus.
