As St. Ambrose University approaches the holiday season, it’s time to perform.
St. Ambrose has welcomed many new singers and band members to the orchestra and choir teams for the 2025 fall season! There’s all sorts of band opportunities here on the St. Ambrose campus.
From symphonic band to marching band, St. Ambrose offers scholarships to students with an interest towards the musical field. The bees have constantly been rehearsing for their past and upcoming performances.
These performances have been hosted by professors Dr. Enz and Dr. Windt. As rehearsals have begun, the entire halls of the Galvin Center are filled with the sounds of lovely voices and instruments.
In previous years, St. Ambrose has performed numerous events. The well-known holiday event on campus is “An Ambrosian Christmas”. This event includes soloists, the jazz ensemble and other singers who collaborate and perform. All of the choir members will be singing holiday pieces celebrating the joy of Christmas. This event will be held at the Galvin Center in the auditorium.
Be sure to grab your tickets for December 6th at 3:00 PM!
Band director, Dr. Enz proposes “It’s been fun, every year we bring a new group of students and they all have their own strengths and personalities. So much of our job is getting all of that to work together to create this work of art.”
Both Dr. Windt and Dr. Enz have been working with their students since the beginning of the semester for the shows.
Senior Kassidy Holridge, who is a first year member of the choir, mentions that she is excited to perform and that everyone has been working on the pieces all semester. She hopes everyone will enjoy their work.
“It’s been great! Dr. Windt is very knowledgeable and is great at giving directions. He is easy to understand, yet challenges us every class. He’s also very funny and keeps the energy lighthearted!”
Make sure to bee ready for the holly jolly holidays! Grab some coco while you’re at it.
